A scheduled Nantucket County meeting was postponed after a staff member announced the body lacked a quorum.
A staff member said, "I regret to inform the public and all our consultants… we don't have a quorum." The staff member told attendees that the meeting would be rescheduled and that county staff and commissioners would coordinate a new date and time by email.
The staff member said the next meeting "may end up being entirely remote" because of room availability and timing, and added that there were no members of the public present for the items on the agenda. No substantive agenda items were discussed during the brief announcement.
The staff member apologized for the inconvenience, saying, "Again, sorry for any inconvenience to all of you." Officials gave no further details about the rescheduled date or any changes to the published agenda.
Because there was no quorum, the county took no formal votes and made no policy decisions at the session. Staff said they would circulate options for an alternative meeting time by email and work with commissioners and consultants to set the new date.
