Commissioners approve sites and design choices for new and relocated county generators

The court approved relocating the existing annex generator to serve JP 2 (the extension/JPs facility) after staff confirmed the generator and JP 2 are compatible (the parties said the units are the same voltage/specification). Commissioners also approved a masonry enclosure — described as a brick “turned on edge with holes” to match courthouse architecture — rather than a cyclone fence. Staff said grant funds and county reserves already set aside for generator matching will cover project costs; the presenter stated the state picked up an additional 15% of the match and that roughly “200 and something thousand dollars” was set aside for the grant match.
