Commissioners ask staff to reconcile Constable Central records with JP-issued papers after review

Gene Barty, identified in the discussion as a constable, confirmed JP-issued papers are generally handled from the JP office and do not go through Constable Central. Staff suggested asking JP offices for reports that would show how many papers were issued for service in each JP precinct and whether entries distinguish private process servers from constable service.
Because auditors were not comfortable that the system consistently records the individual who physically served every paper, the presenter limited the published report to entries clearly recorded in Constable Central. Commissioners instructed staff to request additional data from JP offices and confirm whether Phyllis (a records clerk referenced in the discussion) records every paper in Odyssey’s paper module.
The motion to approve the consent agenda item receiving the Constable Central review (agenda item 7) was made and carried.
