Public speaker urges district audit of curriculum after passage of Wyoming HB 147 on institutional discrimination

McKee urged the board to form a curriculum review committee of board members, teachers, parents and community leaders to identify and revise materials she described as promoting diversity, equity and inclusion or social‑justice content contrary to HB 147. She asked the district to audit external curriculum vendors for material that could be interpreted as inconsistent with the new state law and to revise professional development offerings where necessary.
The board chair acknowledged McKee’s remarks and asked her to submit additional materials in writing for the record. No board action was taken during the meeting on McKee’s requests; public comment was noted and filed with the meeting materials.
