Education committee chair seeks funding for State Board work, transformation planning

Several members urged AOE to return more prescriptive plans showing intended hires and deliverables before the appropriation is finalized.
Other items the education committee noted in its memo included concurrence with state college funding requests that align with the governor’s ask, support for small program increases such as Governor’s Institutes and Advanced Vermont, and a hunger‑free/CACFP request that staff said could draw federal matching funds if AOE serves as fiscal agent.
Why it matters: education transformation and state board capacity shape how future governance, district organization and support to schools would be implemented, and the committee signaled it wants clearer deliverables and staffing plans prior to committing significant transition dollars.
