At the start of its Jan. 30 session the Michigan House Judiciary Committee adopted proposed committee rules and a regular meeting schedule. Representative Bagole moved to adopt the committee rule that allows public members to address the committee at the chair’s discretion and permits written testimony in lieu of oral testimony; the clerk recorded a roll-call vote of 10 ayes, 0 nays. "Madam Chair, you have 10 ayes, 0 nays, 0 passed. The rule is adopted," the clerk said.
Representative Schutte then moved to set Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in Room 5201 of the House Office Building as the committee’s normal meeting day, time and place. The clerk recorded a roll-call vote of 10 ayes, 0 nays. "Madam Chair, you have 10 ayes, 0 nays, 0 passed. The daytime and location are adopted," the clerk announced.
Both votes were unanimous; the committee proceeded to hearings after adopting the rule and schedule.
