Votes at a glance: House advances appropriations bill, medical licensure compact, and adopts Women’s History Month resolution

The resolution was adopted by voice vote on the floor.

House Resolution 36 (bird flu): Representative Kofia introduced House Resolution 36 urging the federal government to prioritize a national strategy to curb the spread of bird flu; the resolution was referred to the Committee on Government Operations.

Rule-suspension motions and other procedural actions: The majority floor leader moved repeatedly to suspend House rules (rule 41) to discharge the Appropriations Committee on multiple bills; those committee-discharge motions resulted in bills being placed on second and third reading or were adopted where noted. A later motion to suspend rule 41 to discharge Senate Bill 60 did not carry—the chair announced the rule was not suspended after a voice vote.
