County staff said the Zetron replacement is the first major dispatch-system upgrade since 2014 and noted installation may require wiring through ceilings and crawlspaces.
Sheriff Lyle (presenting department budget figures) told commissioners that combined end-of-year underspends across several public-safety units totaled about $146,787.99 and that another roughly $306,461 in revenue from contracts and services was remitted to the general fund, producing roughly $453,249 returned to the county general fund. Commissioners discussed that such revenue flows back into the general fund rather than directly to department budgets, and one commissioner asked that future budgets show monthly breakdowns and clearer department-level detail.
Commissioners said dispatch work was necessary to keep the PSAP (public-safety answering point) in compliance and that some costs had been unavoidable. One commissioner asked whether the equipment had been budgeted; staff said the antenna was an addition to the budget and that some of the work had already been performed.
The commission approved the invoices by voice vote; the motion carried.
