Lebanon Fire and Mercy EMS personnel honored with lifesaving awards; Lebanon Police names 2024 employee of the year

Lebanon City recognized first responders at the council meeting for a December 10, 2024 medical emergency at the Laclede County Courthouse where crews performed life-saving measures.
Fire Chief Schneider and Lebanon Fire Department staff described how Lieutenant Robert Wilson and firefighter Nick Wafflehorst provided initial care and began life-saving measures until Mercy EMS personnel โ including paramedic Caleb Winfrey and EMT Rachel Bridal โ arrived and continued advanced care. Lieutenant Jim Gallagher and firefighter Nick Kelvey assisted in preparing the patient for transport. The city presented lifesaving awards and a unit citation to responders for their actions that day.
A patient identified at the meeting as Edward Kendall stood and addressed the council. "If it wasn't for the effort of each and every one of you ... I would not be here," Kendall said, thanking the responders for their care.
The Lebanon Police Department also honored Officer Josh Moore as the department's 2024 employee of the year. Chief Harrison said Moore was a unanimous selection of the command staff and cited his arrest and traffic-enforcement contributions, reliability in covering shifts and positive community interactions.
Ending: Council members applauded the recipients and congratulated city first responders and police staff for their service.
