She said the district had completed work to ensure access to instructional materials and devices and had a “significant decrease” in chronic absenteeism, which she described as a positive trend.
On college‑and‑career readiness and A–G completion, presenters noted persistent gaps. The district’s data, presented during the meeting, show work to increase A–G completion, access to AP and CTE pathways and to align graduation requirements with CSU/UC minimums. The LCAP update also flags algebra readiness and foundational reading instruction as partially implemented action steps where further work and expenditures are expected.
Amy said the district is tracking multiple data sources — local benchmarks (DNA/inspect assessments), FastBridge screeners and state assessments (CAST/CAASPP) — and will present annual results in the June LCAP review. She also reported that the focus goal for English learners includes reclassification and biliteracy efforts; the district cited 41 students designated with 6 students meeting the then‑current seal of biliteracy requirements, and staff said the requirements changed last summer and the tracking method will be updated.
On implementation, the presenter said many professional development, collaboration and parent‑education items are partially implemented and will continue through the LCAP cycle. Board members asked about committee participation and whether the district needs more community representation; the presenter said more participants are welcome and noted the current committee is secondary‑heavy.
