Business services staff reported that the district previously received $267,000 under the program and that the district now budgets a general‑fund contribution to transportation of approximately $171,000; staff said reimbursement estimates are conservative and the final contribution may vary. The district operates six general‑education bus routes and two special‑education routes and serves 930 students districtwide via bus, including about 200 eligible under the free‑and‑reduced program.
The board heard that staff plans to add a seventh general‑education route and that driver recruitment improved after the district offered a hiring bonus; staff said they hired eight drivers and that other districts continue to face driver shortages.
Trustees approved the transportation master plan by voice vote. Staff said the plan is the basis for upcoming state reimbursement requests and that final revenue figures will be reflected in later budget updates.
