At the March 10 meeting the Buena Park School District Board reported out of closed session with two formal actions.
First, the board unanimously ratified and approved a final settlement agreement and general release dated Feb. 3, 2025, in a special-education due-process matter (Office of Administrative Hearings case OAH2024110631). The district agreed to fund and provide educational services specified in the agreement; in exchange the student’s parents agreed to release claims against the district. The board recorded a unanimous vote on the settlement.
Second, the board unanimously approved issuing notices of non‑reelection to a list of temporary certificated employees under Education Code section 44954, effective at the end of the 2024–25 school year, and directed the superintendent or designee to send appropriate legal notice. During the report‑out the board read the list of employee identification numbers recorded in the closed‑session action; the board said the action was taken after closed‑session consideration of public‑employee discipline and dismissal/release matters.
The board reported no further actions from closed session.
