Pacifica’s City Council completed committee and commission appointments on March 10, filling vacancies on four advisory bodies.
The council appointed Linda Jonas to the Beautification Advisory Committee for a four‑year term expiring March 2029; the motion passed unanimously.
Paige Miller was appointed to the Economic Development Committee to fill a partial term (expires October 2028); the motion passed unanimously. Council members cited Miller’s small‑business experience and regular attendance at committee meetings.
The council appointed Cherie Chan to the Parks, Beaches and Recreation Commission (partial term to May 2028). The motion carried 4–1, with Council Member Espinosa casting the sole recorded vote in opposition. Councilors cited Chan’s energy and engagement with youth and parks programs in supporting her appointment.
Finally, Marge Davis was appointed to the Planning Commission to a four‑year term expiring March 2029; council members noted her long community involvement and experience with planning issues.
Council members praised all applicants, noted the strength of the candidate pool and encouraged unsuccessful applicants to remain involved and to reapply for future vacancies. The appointments were made by individual motions and recorded votes.
