Board approves soil testing, construction inspection amendment, conferences and a complaints policy update

Motion moved by Vice President Coffey; seconded by Trustee Wong; outcome: approved (aye).
- CSBA/ACSA federal advocacy trip to Washington, D.C.: the board approved trustees’ participation in the CSBA/ACSA federal advocacy event and an amendment expanding authorized participation after discussion. The agenda listed an estimated cost of approximately $9,106 for four trustees; the board later voted to amend the authorization to expand trustee participation (the board approved the amendment). Outcome: approved (aye).
- Adoption of Board Policy 1312.1 (Complaints Concerning District Employees): the board approved an updated policy and accompanying administrative regulation clarifying informal and formal complaint procedures and stating that anonymous complaints will not be investigated unless they raise issues that require district inquiry.
