Douglas County approves abandonment of Mid Valley Boulevard right‑of‑way near Buckeye Road

Douglas County commissioners approved a request to abandon a portion of public right‑of‑way for Mid Valley Boulevard (approximately 2.7 acres) and an associated 0.56‑acre access easement south of Buckeye Road. County Engineer Jeremy Hutchings told the board the right‑of‑way was originally offered for dedication as part of a final map and that the parcels would retain access via a common access easement to Buckeye Road. Public Works staff had raised no objections and Hutchings said he had not received public comment on the item prior to the hearing. Hutchings recommended approval subject to conditions in the staff report.
Jim Jackson offered brief public comment noting local traffic concerns; no other speakers objected. Commissioner Rice moved to approve the abandonment subject to staff conditions and the motion carried unanimously.
