Community Foundation delivers Pulaski County strategic visioning report to commissioners

Leanne Wright, executive director of the Community Foundation of Pulaski County, delivered the county’s Strategic Visioning Plan to the commissioners and urged them to use the report to guide future policy and grant applications.
The plan, prepared by the Indiana Communities Institute at Ball State University, draws on five community listening sessions and an income survey. Wright said the foundation has posted the report on its website and emailed copies to commissioners.
Wright said the report “provides a prioritized list of focus areas, as well as highlighting our strengths and the gaps that require attention.” She recommended the county consider pursuing a comprehensive community plan through the Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA), noting planning grants are available and that Pulaski County’s income survey makes the county eligible for certain funding.
Wright suggested inviting the Indiana Communities Institute back to develop a Community-Based Action Plan (CBAP) to follow up on priorities identified in the visioning plan. She said the Community Foundation will use the reports to guide its work and offered to partner with county leaders on initiatives identified in the report.
No formal action was taken during the meeting on the planning recommendations; Wright asked commissioners if they had questions and left copies of the materials with county staff.
