Alexander Safi was confirmed unanimously to a three-year term on the Ethics Board ending Dec. 1, 2027. Safi introduced himself to the council, saying, "My wife and I moved to town here about 5 years ago," and describing his professional background as a corporate tax lawyer and partner at Ernst & Young. The council voted in favor of his appointment without discussion.
The council also confirmed the appointment of Alan (last name on application) as an alternate member of the Board of Finance for a two-year term ending Dec. 1, 2025. Members discussed whether they had met the appointee in person; one council member noted the candidate's resume had been posted and reviewed. During the roll-call vote the appointment passed with one abstention (Eric Toonan). The council record shows the roll-call votes by name and that the motion carried.
