Committee defers minutes, policies and health projects; sets regular meeting for fourth Tuesday at 2 p.m.

The MWBE Goal Setting Committee of Shelby County on Feb. 25, 2025 deferred several procedural items and set a standing monthly meeting time.
The committee voted to defer approval of minutes from meeting numbers 18 and 19 after the chair proposed postponement until the next scheduled meeting. Commissioner Avant moved to defer the minutes and Administrator James Gloucester seconded the motion; the chair noted no objection and the minutes were deferred.
The committee also deferred policies and procedures items. The chair recommended deferring discussion of several policy and procedure items “given the present climate of change,” and asked for a motion to postpone them until the next meeting; Commissioner Avant moved to defer and Administrator Gloucester seconded. The committee recorded the items as deferred without objection.
Several new projects submitted by the Health Department were also deferred at staff request; Doctor Hall moved to defer those items to the next meeting and Commissioner Avant seconded.
On scheduling, the committee set its regular meeting day as the fourth Tuesday of each month at 2:00 p.m., to be adjusted by notice when conflicts arise; Commissioner Avant moved the scheduling motion and Administrator Gloucester seconded. Committee members noted April would require a different date and the chair said notices would follow in that case.
The chair then adjourned the MWBE Goal Setting Committee meeting number 20.
