Davidson County commissioners approved a zoning line correction for property owned by Robert and Melanie Gates at 7106 Old Lexington Road, moving a small portion of land to align zoning with a recent survey and to address a homeowner insurance issue.
Staff explained that a prior 2012 rezoning created a limited industrial (LI) pocket on the property; a new survey split the parcel and left a home in the industrial zone which created insurability problems. The request swaps about 1.19 acres into LI and 0.23 acres out of LI to place the residence back into a residential district and align zoning with the current lot lines.
The applicant said the change is procedural and is intended to fix the homeowner insurance issue; there were no public speakers on the item. Planning staff recommended approval as a reasonable adjustment and consistent with the county plan.
The board approved the request and adopted a statement of consistency per county procedures.
