EDAP to review land-use table updates and council feedback on work plan

City planning staff told the EDAP on March 3 that the Planning Commission will soon ask for input on updates to the city's land-use table, including permitted, conditional and administrative uses in commercial and town-center zones. Staff flagged inconsistencies (for example, truck rental allowed in town center but not in commercial) and asked the advisory panel to review materials in the packet in advance of the Planning Commission meeting.
EDAP members were also briefed on the group's recently completed work plan and its presentation to city council. The chair reported council interest and that the council planned to review the recommended priorities further at a retreat scheduled for March 15. Staff said board members should expect an update at the next EDAP meeting; the council may propose minor adjustments.
Board action items included: (1) review the land-use table materials and be prepared to provide recommendations at the next meeting and (2) consider the West Valley overlay (added to the comprehensive-plan annual docket) when the panel prioritizes land uses and impact-fee relief, not just Meridian corridor areas.
Ending: Staff will email direct links to the town-center survey and prior market studies; the EDAP will include the West Valley overlay in its next set of prioritized land-use recommendations.
