The Orting City Council on Feb. 12, 2025, adopted Resolution No. 2025‑04 authorizing the addition of the newly appointed finance director as an authorized signatory on the city’s bank and investment accounts. The council confirmed the appointment of the new finance director on Jan. 29; the director is scheduled to begin employment Feb. 18.
Finance staff explained the change is procedural and timed to the new hire's official start date. Councilmember Sprowl asked whether the signature authority would be dated to the start of employment; staff confirmed it would be. The motion to adopt the resolution was made by Councilmember Hogan and seconded by Councilmember Holland. The council approved the resolution by voice vote with all present members saying "aye."
