Mickelson said the RS did not change signature requirements. "So that's what we did, and what we did was we simply moved the filing fees up," she said during the presentation.
Mickelson explained the purpose was to ensure candidates filing for office are serious about running, and to reduce transient or placeholder filings. She said signatures required for qualifying remain unchanged.
Representative Polhonka moved to introduce RS32292C1. The committee voted by voice; the motion carried.
The committee proceeded to its next item after the introduction vote.
