Public works (Justin) reported installation of an E‑1 odor‑control charcoal system at the wastewater plant began and should be completed during the week; staff cautioned there may be pH adjustments after the system starts. The town’s contractor is about 73% complete on residential meter changeouts; staff replaced or raised 64 meter boxes and 20 leaking meter setters to accommodate the new meters. Winter storm impacts included 53 water services cut off for burst pipes that staff responded to during the weather event.
The planning and inspections report for January showed 57 total permits with a construction value of $2,200,000 and permit fees of $19,390.77; there was one new single‑family permit on East Third Street.
Other department updates included police incident counts and fire/EMS response statistics for January; fire reported 79 calls in January and 408 hours of training logged by the department.
