The Scotts Bluff County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution Tuesday certifying completion of a statewide stop‑sign upgrade carried out under a Nebraska Department of Transportation agreement.
Steve, the county road and bridge representative, told commissioners the county submitted 71 locations for the program and was responsible only for installation. “It was a little over $14,000 worth of posts and signs that we put in,” he said, and the work included reflective tape and upgraded sign assemblies similar to state stop signs. He said the installation deadline in the agreement required the signs to be installed “by June of 25 this year.”
The resolution formally notifies MDOT that the county completed the installation work. Commissioners voted to accept the certificate of completion; the chair called the vote and recorded four yeses.
Steve described the vendor/agency arrangement as the state paying for signs and posts while county crews did the installation. No additional follow‑up tasks or funding requests were raised at Tuesday’s meeting.
The resolution closes the county’s obligations under the MDOT agreement for these locations, according to county staff, and will be transmitted to NDOT as requested in the agreement packet.
