Planning commission approves two final plats, disapproves one pending corrections

The Lewisville Planning and Zoning Commission on March 4 approved final plats for two residential subdivisions and disapproved a third plat because of technical deficiencies, delegating authority to staff to approve the third once the issues are corrected.
Staff told commissioners the final plat for Willows at Oak Bend is ready for approval after review. Planning staff recommended the commission approve the plat for the development described in the filing, which covers 7.935 acres and proposes 41 townhomes, 21 single-family detached lots and four green-space lots on tracts out of the Elle Bourgeois survey. "Staff recommends that the planning and zoning commission approve this final plan," a planning staff member said.
Commissioners approved the Willows at Oak Bend final plat on a motion by Commissioner Francesca, seconded by Commissioner Jack; the motion carried as recorded in the meeting.
The commission also approved the final plat for the Kingswood Hills Addition, a subdivision covering 47.641 acres and proposing 36 single-family detached lots and seven green-space lots across multiple survey abstracts. Planning staff said the Kingswood Hills plat had been submitted in May of the previous year, went through several rounds of review and is now ready for approval.
A third final plat, the American Landscape Addition (heavy industrial zoning) for property at 504 Barn Barfneck Lane, was disapproved by the commission because of deficiencies listed in the staff memo. Planning staff recommended disapproval with delegation of authority to staff to accept and approve the plat once the listed deficiencies are corrected; the approved plat will then be presented to the chair for signature. The commission voted to disapprove and to delegate approval authority to staff after corrections.
