Superintendent Heather Bohati presented the calendar and noted the administration will align the summer‑hours proposal with the calendar if both are approved. Board member Tonya asked the board to consider closing the administration office for additional days such as the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve so administrators can spend time with family; members discussed taking the idea to meet and confer because changes would affect 12‑month and classified staff pay and benefits.
Director of operations Burke Jones said operations supervisors discussed the proposal and the department favored a four‑day summer workweek with district‑wide Friday closures during the summer window, noting accommodations are available for heat and other operational needs.
Board member Tonya moved that the board approve the calendar as presented and refer the suggestion about admin office closed days to the meet‑and‑confer committee; the motion passed 7‑0. Bohati said communications will note any subsequent amendments should the meet‑and‑confer process reach different recommendations.
