The director said the district is still within school-age CAASPP score review and that the change reflects timeline measures; she added that the district recently hired a special-education teacher who will join staff in the coming weeks and that filling open positions (including a school psychologist) will help the district meet required timelines. The director characterized the change as an area identified for improvement rather than a fundamental shift in the district's plans.
Operationally, the director reported the district is in the middle of its lottery season and said applications are running ahead of last year's pace. She said last year the district had about 600 applicants and the count discussed this morning was closer to 800 applications, noting the number is preliminary. The board also heard that dual-enrollment courses began this week and that the district distributed LCAP midyear surveys to parents and staff.
