Public Works presented the proposal and said neighboring sheriff’s offices use the Flock system, particularly at county lines. Staff said the two cameras would monitor park entrances and that the sheriff’s office (Captain Davis was referenced) would have access to identify persons of interest. Staff added the city’s portal to the vendor’s system would not display license‑plate numbers to city users.
A council motion to approve the installation passed after a brief presentation. No public comments specific to the cameras were recorded during the meeting.
Staff said if the pilot at Main Street Park is successful, additional camera placements (including on U.S. 9 South) may be discussed with the sheriff’s office.
