LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. — The Lake Havasu City Council took a series of generally noncontroversial actions on Jan. 28. Key outcomes:
- Ken’s Pizza & Pasta (1675 Mesquite Ave., Suite B): Council voted 7-0 to recommend that the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control grant a series 7 beer-and-wine bar license to applicant Melissa Zettle. The motion to recommend approval was made by Council Member David Diaz and seconded by Council Member Nancy Campbell.
- Aeration system replacement, North Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant: Council awarded the project to Felix Construction Company for $596,548 after a seven-proposer procurement process. Council Member Jim Dolan moved approval; Council Member Cameron Moses seconded. Staff said the existing aeration diffusers and headers were installed in 2006 and replacement will take about nine months.
- Monitoring well NP-12 replacement, North Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant: Council awarded the drilling contract to AZCA Drilling and Pump Inc. for $144,250 to reinstall a compliance monitoring well near the plant after the original well collapsed. Council Member David Diaz moved approval; Council Member Jim Dolan seconded.
- Ordinance (intro): Council introduced (first-read) an ordinance amending city code section 2.04.028 to change how council members place items on future agendas; the proposed change formalizes that a council member who requests an item and receives a second will present it to the full council at a future meeting. The item was introduced and will return for final adoption at a subsequent meeting.
