City planning staff told the Lake Havasu City Planning and Zoning Commission on March 5 that the general plan update is making steady progress and that a draft public participation plan is under review.
A city staff member said the consultant team’s work has been productive and that the goal is to have the update “mostly completely done by the end of the year into early next year so that there'll be plenty of review time to make corrections before it gets set for public approval November of next year.”
The comment came during the meeting’s correspondence and announcements section; no formal action or vote was taken on the general plan at this meeting. Staff described this as an early-stage status report about the consultant team’s schedule and outreach plan.
The commission did not ask follow-up questions during the announcement. Staff indicated additional review time will be planned before the item returns for formal public hearings and any required commission or council action.
