Council approves liquor license and city code changes; planners clear two Magnolia Drive actions

Lake Havasu City Council on Feb. 11 voted unanimously on four items presented during the public hearings portion of the meeting, approving a beer-and-wine liquor license, adopting an amendment to council request procedures and approving a land-use amendment and a rezone for a property on Magnolia Drive.
The council recommended Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control approve a series 7 (beer and wine bar) liquor license for Oasis Eateries, 201 Swanson Ave.; the motion was made by Councilmember Cameron Moses and seconded by Councilmember Jim Dolan. No objections or public comments were recorded during the hearing; the motion passed 7-0.
The council also adopted Ordinance No. 25-1353, amending Lake Havasu City code section 2.04 0.28 (council request). The ordinance was adopted on a motion by Councilmember David Diaz with a second from Councilmember Moses and carried 7-0.
Separately, the council adopted Resolution No. 25-3810, a minor general plan amendment to change the future land-use designation for 1719 Magnolia Drive (Tract 2304, Block 1, Lot 38) from high-density residential to medium-density residential; the motion was made by Councilmember Koch and seconded by Councilmember Moses and passed 7-0.
Following the general-plan amendment, the council adopted Ordinance No. 25-1354 to rezone the same parcel (1719 Magnolia Drive) from Residential Commercial Health District to Residential Commercial Health Planned Development District, reducing the minimum required dwelling-unit density and eliminating the 50% two-story requirement; Councilmember Moses moved, Councilmember Dolan seconded, and the motion carried 7-0.
