Greene County parks rangers win state award for Junior Ranger Program

Greene County Ranger Department took first place in the law enforcement category at the Ohio Parks and Recreation Association conference for its Junior Ranger Program, county ranger Chuck Frazier told commissioners.
Greene County Ranger Department staff won a state-level award for their Junior Ranger Program, County Ranger Chuck Frazier told the Board of Commissioners at the Feb. 6 meeting.
"In the law enforcement category, they won first place for our Junior Ranger Program," Frazier said, describing the Ohio Parks and Recreation Association annual conference in Sandusky, Ohio, where the award was presented.
Frazier said the Junior Ranger Program brings children to a week-long camp where rangers teach them about law enforcement and park operations. He accepted the award on behalf of the department and thanked staff who helped build and run the program.
Commissioners congratulated the Ranger Department and asked Frazier to pass on the board's appreciation to his staff.
