The Hocking County Board of Commissioners recorded a series of motions and votes during the Feb. 20 meeting. The board’s actions included contract payments, transfer and appropriation motions, permits and appointments. All items listed below were approved by the commissioners during the meeting unless otherwise noted.

- Approve third pay request from BLD (Rockbridge project), amount $112,190: motion placed on general business agenda for signature; commissioners authorized signature during general business.

- Approve purchase of a pallet of road salt for maintenance department: approved.
- Approve Mark Stout travel to SHI conference (vendor-funded): approved.
- Delegate payroll certification for next week: approved—Clerk Christie authorized to certify payroll except for her own payroll; Mark Stout authorized to certify Christie’s payroll in that limited instance so payroll can be processed while commissioners attend training.
- Appointments and nominations: Jordan Meadows nominated and approved to serve in the law library; Michael Litton (or Litton—transcript: Michael Litton) appointed as the commissioners’ representative to the Hocking Hills Soybean Association; other appointments proceeded with aye votes.
Procedural notes: Most motions were taken with the standard sequence (“motion, second, all in favor, aye”). When roll call was conducted for some appointments, commissioners answered in the affirmative. The meeting record identifies all three commissioners and the clerk as present for votes.
The board recessed at the close of general business and moved to an executive appointment discussion that the board characterized as nonpublic.
