Commissioners approve multiple transfers and routine items including CHIP agreement, ARPA transfer and lodging tax adjustments

Key approved actions recorded in the meeting include:
• Programmatic agreement with Ohio History Connection for CHIP projects: motion to approve and sign the contract was made and approved by voice vote. (See separate coverage of HACAP presentation.)
• Fund transfer — sheriff to school resource officer salary: $82,570.61 moved from sheriff employees’ salaries to the school resource officer salary line; motion made and approved by voice vote.
• ARPA transfer for children services county share: the commissioners approved a transfer of $112,349.35 from ARPA funds into county children services county share to cover mandated costs; accompanying appropriation of the same amount was also approved.
• Additional appropriations and grant reimbursements: the commission approved an additional appropriation of $10,000 to contract services (grant reimbursement) and another reimbursement appropriation of $24,869.45; a transfer of $6,000 into sheriff police and rotary was also approved.
• Lodging tax adjustments: commissioners approved a $750 appropriation for lodging‑tax refunds and a $5,000 appropriation for scanning/software expenses in the lodging tax budget; commissioners also approved the lodging tax administrator’s January report and noted the county’s reported lodging unit counts.
• Workman’s compensation tentative appropriation: commissioners approved a tentative appropriation of $165,000 to the workman’s comp fund based on expected receipts from county departments.
• Routine approvals: resignation of Steven Proctor from the Hocking County Law Library Resource Board was accepted; an appointment slip and a satisfaction of mortgage related to CHIP were approved and signed. County engineers approved underground construction and utility pole replacements for South Central Power on county right‑of‑way and the commission granted those approvals.
• Subscription and travel approvals: commissioners authorized up to $1,500 for a state‑house bill‑tracking subscription for the three commissioners and approved EMA director travel to training next week in Benton County.
Each motion was made, seconded and approved by voice vote during the Feb. 6 meeting; no roll call vote tallies were read in the transcript and motions were recorded as approved by unanimous voice vote.
