County staff report progress on garage, water and sewer work at Headwaters and other sites

County staff said the garage project has seen progress on the water line and the first water heater installation; contractors exposed and replaced tiles in two locations and will supply new pipe. Staff described coordination over replaced metal pieces near the sheriff's office and follow-up on a tile issue found at Headwaters.
At Headwaters, crews are installing a meter pit and preparing for a tap; staff said a fire hydrant is in place and that the line being installed is an 8-inch main. They noted a meter has not yet been set because the county does not have one in stock. Contractors are also preparing a deep sewer trench on the east side of the road; staff said the sewer is designed for gravity flow and will require a deep trench box and saw cutting of the roadway for a roughly 3-foot section to accommodate the trench. Staff said they asked contractors to stub a sewer connection near a smaller building so future digging will be easier.
Staff also reported that the regional gas line work on Highway 21 is progressing westward from the tap and that crews had been drilling along the route toward the 170 area. Several staff members mentioned coordinating with Derek and Tyler Butler on sewer stub-outs and other site work.
No formal board action was recorded on these construction updates; staff described progress and plans and indicated follow-up coordination would continue among departments and contractors.
