At its Jan. 20 meeting the Lock Haven City Council voted on a slate of routine approvals and requests for use of public space. The council recorded the following actions:

- North Vester Street closure (second reading) for Bridal Haven event, June 28, 8 a.m.–8 p.m.: approved (unanimous vote recorded).
- Use of Petty Park and City Beach and portion of North Bester Street for a fundraising floating event (Aug. 17, 8 a.m.–6 p.m.): approved (unanimous vote recorded). Councilors discussed ground softness in park areas and noted organizers should coordinate with staff on site protection measures.
- Closure of East Water Street for a Veterans Park memorial celebration (May 25, 3–11 p.m.), including fireworks: approved (unanimous vote recorded). Fireworks proximity and FAA/state rules were discussed; staff and the Lock Haven Fire Department will review safety and permitting requirements with the organizers.
- Downtown Rotary requests (flag displays and luminary dates, May–Sept.): approved with date modifications (motion passed).
- Ross Library banner across Main Street (March 10–31) for the book sale (Resolution No. 2025-01): approved (motion passed).
- Frozen Snot 25K race route extension (adds roughly 3 miles on existing park trails): approved (motion passed).
- Appointment of residents to city authorities, boards, committees and commissions (roster of 21 residents, 11 boards; two vacancies noted): motion to approve appointments passed.
- Authorization to pay invoices presented by the Lock Haven City Authority (payments to Appalachian Forest Consultants, Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Association, Roberts Maselli [solicitor], Baker Tilly [auditor]): approved.
- Extension of the CDBG engineering services agreement with the existing consultant through the end of 2025 to complete Tiger Park work and allow competitive procurement as required by CDBG: approved.
- Commercial loan committee recommendations to fund GB Renton LLC ($45,000) and JD’s 3 Witches Bakery ($17,500): approved (see separate article for details).
Several of the items carried brief discussion about logistics, impacts on park maintenance and safety protocols (notably fireworks and park-surface protection). Where organizers requested closures that included fireworks or special activities, staff said they would work with the fire department and vendor to ensure needed permits and safe siting.
