The Pueblo County Board of County Commissioners on Feb. 13 approved a road/alley vacation (case RAV204-3) to vacate a platted 16-foot-wide alley between Lots 1–20 and 21–40 of Block 35 and 38 in the Westside Addition on West Eleventh Street, approximately 200 feet northwest of the intersection with Marble Street.
County staff presented the case and said the planning commission recommended approval. The applicants were identified as Scott and Denise May and KRS Living Trust (care of Kent Stringer); Gary Amela of Amela Survey appeared as the applicants' representative. Staff noted a neighbor had raised questions at the planning commission hearing but that those concerns were addressed before the board hearing; no opposition appeared in chambers or online.
Commissioners asked procedural questions about how staff handles intent and enforcement: staff said an applicant's stated intent is considered during review and that compliance with conditions is enforced through the county's permit and revocation process. A motion to approve the alley vacation was moved and seconded; the board voted in favor and the motion carried.
