The Hingham School Committee on Feb. 24 received a Portrait of a Learner presentation that identifies five core competencies the district plans to weave across pre-K–12 instruction and use to inform strategic planning.
Superintendent Kathryn Roberts said the work began in summer workshops and continued through community surveys and focus groups. "We convened a team of leaders that attended a NIASC workshop," Roberts said, describing the outside training that launched the effort. The steering committee partnered with the Teaching and Learning Alliance and worked with former superintendents Pam Gould and Zef Giannetti.
