He said the provider is preparing for two main paths: "plan A," which depends on a major federal broadband award, and "plan B," where the organization would use available funds to proceed with more limited construction and to expend remaining American Rescue Plan funds where useful. "So right now, this month and maybe the next couple months, it's pretty much doing prepare preparation type work for what we're going to do," Steve said.
At the time of the meeting commissioners were told Maple Broadband had about 525 subscribers. Staff said they will continue to ready projects for bidding and to use local funds for limited connections if federal decisions are delayed.
