ACRPC approves Orwell town plan as regionally consistent

The Addison County Regional Planning Commission voted to confirm the town of Orwell's planning process and to regionally approve its town plan after a local government committee review and a public hearing.
Staff reported that the local government committee met with the Orwell Planning Commission on Jan. 15, the public hearing was well-attended and staff's review concluded the plan met state statutory requirements and best practices. Diane and Jennifer, who attended the hearing, described the plan as "very well thought out" with attention to historic resources and the town green.
A motion to confirm the planning process and regionally approve the plan was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. Commissioners were asked to notify Joe that the plan had been adopted.
