Fiscal Court rejects Dixon Square window/door bid after it exceeded budget

Public Works building maintenance supervisor Mark Jordan told the Boyle County Fiscal Court that bids to rebuild windows and doors at Dixon Square came in materially higher than budgeted. Jordan said the cost “exceeded our budget by quite a bit,” and recommended rejecting the bid and regrouping.
The fiscal court voted unanimously to reject the bid. Magistrate Dallas moved to reject and Magistrate Bodnar seconded; all present voted aye. Judge Executive Trillie Bottom announced, “Motion passes. The bid is rejected.”
Why it matters: Rejection allows staff to redesign or re‑bid the project to fit available funds. Court members asked staff to bring revised scope or cost estimates back to a future meeting.
