County Administrator presented Clay County’s 2024 annual performance report and previewed an online, illustrated version that will be published on the county website.
The report catalogs the county’s strategic focus areas, highlights accomplishments, and lists performance measures: 23 key performance indicators (KPIs) and 42 additional metrics across five focus areas. The administrator said roughly half of KPIs met or exceeded targets and that staff will update targets annually when outcomes warrant higher goals.
“...we have a total of 23 KPIs… a significant portion of them are equal to or better than moving us closer to the target or basically meets or exceeds our target,” the administrator said. Commissioners praised the report’s design and accessibility; one commissioner singled out the communications team for the presentation’s layout and clarity.
The report includes a “day in Clay” timeline showing county services over 24 hours and calls out customer-service examples, including early online receipt of a senior tax-credit application. The administrator invited commissioners to review the electronic version when it launches and to direct follow-up questions to staff.
Commissioners commended staff and department heads for progress on strategic priorities and recommended continuing to raise targets where appropriate as performance improves.
