Okaloosa County School Board members discussed an expanded “seat management” contract that formalizes leasing of classroom technology and moves large-scale device support to a vendor.
The presentation, given by Mr. John Spolsky during the March workshop, explained the district will lease hardware rather than purchase it outright. “We don't purchase the hardware. We lease it, and then after it goes through a period of time, we refresh it,” Spolsky said. He said the contract includes desktop and mobile device seats, support for ClearTouch panels and Office 365, and vendor-provided technicians at larger schools.
