Flagler Schools announces public review period for intervention instructional materials March 24–April 14

District staff notified the board that the public review period for proposed intervention instructional materials will begin March 24 and conclude Monday, April 14. The announcement fulfills a statutory requirement to provide families and the public access to materials under consideration.
The materials subject to public inspection include K–4 math intervention, K–3 ELA intervention, grades 6–12 intensive reading, and 9–12 personal finance. Staff said physical materials will be available in the Teaching and Learning office and that the district will provide digital access. Communication efforts will include district channels and social media; staff will supply instructions for scheduling appointments and reviewing hard copies at the office.
Board members asked for clarification that the review will be posted on the district website and that the Teaching and Learning office will coordinate access for families and staff. Staff confirmed both website and direct outreach through specialists, and said parents and families will be able to arrange times to examine instructional materials at the district office as in past adoptions.
