Hanover Park trustees approve travel authorization, three warrant and card payments

Trustee Ben Cooley told the board he had reassessed the trip and that the total cost would fall within his trustee-fund allotment; he said he would provide a trip report afterward. The motion passed with Trustee Van Cooley recorded as abstaining and the trustees who answered during the roll call voting yes.
The board also approved warrant number 362025 in the amount of $230,583.13 and a warrant paid in advance for payments dated Feb. 14–27, 2025, totaling $799,040.01. Trustees approved January 2025 purchasing-card charges of $29,930.75. Those motions passed on roll-call votes with trustees recorded as voting yes in the transcript roll calls.
During discussion of the warrant for $230,583.13, a trustee asked about two line items. A trustee asked whether a $5311 vendor charge to “Justin McWilliams” was tuition reimbursement; staff answered that the payment is part of the human-resources tuition-reimbursement program and that the employee is part of the fire department. The same trustee also asked about a $200 line for polygraph services; staff said the village uses polygraph services as part of background checks for sworn fire and police personnel.
Mayor Rodney S. Craig moved the consent-agenda vote and Christie (the clerk) called roll for the recorded votes. Trustees who were recorded participating in roll calls during the motions included Trustee Priebe, Trustee Alba, Trustee Gutierrez, Trustee Porter and others listed in the meeting roll calls; Trustee Van Cooley was recorded as abstaining on the travel authorization vote.
No ordinance readings, appointments, or contract awards were presented or voted on during the items summarized here, and trustees did not take further action beyond the approvals recorded on the consent agenda.
