The Newport News Planning Commission on Jan. 15 voted 5-2 to recommend approval of special exception SE2024-0006, which would allow construction of a two-story single-family detached dwelling on a nonconforming lot of record at 60-65 Scufflefield Road.
Planning staff (presenter identified as Ms. Zacher) told commissioners the parcel is roughly 0.2 acres and has less than the 50 feet of frontage required by the zoning ordinance.
