The city manager told the council the amendment aligns city procedures with the city charter, enhances criminal-history and background-check requirements for applicants, employees and volunteers in designated positions, and removes the department of internal audit from the city code. The manager recommended approval.
No public speakers addressed the item. The council adopted the amendment by roll-call vote, recorded as unanimous (6-0).
