Boulder City Council on March 6 approved its consent agenda, including authorization to begin the bond process for the South Boulder Creek flood mitigation project. The consent package (items 3A–3F) passed by roll call vote 8–0, enabling staff to proceed toward contracting and bidding.
City utilities director Joe Tadayuchi told council the contract documents and construction estimates are sufficiently developed to start the bond steps and that funds must be appropriated before the city can sign a construction contract. He said staff have built reserves for the project, maintain a 15% contingency line item, and can manage costs by shifting projects within the six-year capital improvement program if needed.
