Yeadon to start Passport Parking app and join Delco Alerts; borough corrects printed calendar mistake

A police official explained the borough removed QR codes from parking signs after reports of fraudulent QR stickers that led people to malicious payment sites. "You're gonna go on, download an app on your phone," the official said, describing how drivers will enter the zone and pay by app; borough staff said kiosks were being evaluated but are expensive and have generated lawsuits in other jurisdictions.
Officials also said Yeadon is in the final stages of joining Delco Alerts, a county alert system that will let residents subscribe to police activity, shelter‑in‑place and street‑closure notices by email or phone. Borough staff and designated officials such as the mayor, borough manager and certain department heads will be able to post basic alerts.
In administrative housekeeping, borough staff apologized for errors on the printed borough calendar that was mailed to residents. The calendar misprinted the primary election date as May 13; the borough corrected the record and said the primary is scheduled for May 20, 2025. Staff said the corrected calendar information is available on the borough website.
Officials said they will notify businesses and residents about Passport Parking and the Delco Alerts sign-up on the borough website and through other outreach.
