House reads bill lists for first time, schedules committee hearings and adjourns to March 10

Among the items scheduled for committee hearings in the coming days were: a March 4, 2025, Insurance Committee hearing on Senate Bill 3 (judiciary duty and health plan administration) and Senate Bill 147 (physician referrals and reimbursement rates); a March 4, 2025, Utilities, Energy, and Telecommunications Committee hearing on Senate Bill 422 (advanced transmission technologies) and related IURC matters; a March 5, 2025, Education Committee session in the House Chamber for Senate Bill 358 and Senate Bill 365 (various education matters); and a March 5, 2025, Ways and Means setting for a hearing-only session on property tax relief (Senate Bill 1) and school property taxes (Senate Bill 518).
The chair also listed highway- and memorial-related concurrent resolutions assigned to transportation hearings, including requests to name or rename certain bridge and highway stretches: Senate Concurrent Resolution urging INDOT to name the bridge spanning Wake Creek on SR 156 the Corporal Barry Lynn Breininger Memorial Bridge; a resolution urging INDOT to name the bridge over Big Walnut Creek at US-231 the James Ball Memorial Bridge; and resolutions to rename segments of SR 114 and I-65 for fallen officers or service members. The chair said these items were assigned to the appropriate roads and transportation hearing dates and rooms cited during the announcements.
After the housekeeping announcements the House took a motion to adjourn. Representative Layman moved to adjourn; the motion was adopted. The chair declared the House adjourned to 03/10/2025 at 1:30 p.m.
